General practitioner care

Your basic health insurance package covers care as provided by a general practitioner (GP). Whenever you have health problems or worries, your GP will be your first port of call. The costs of care provided by a GP do not count towards your compulsory excess.

If your GP orders any tests that he or she cannot do themselves, like an X-ray or a blood test, the costs will count towards your compulsory excess.
